I was born in Oakland, California in May of 1981, and moved to Southern California at the age of 18. I joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in 29 Palms, California, which was not the most pleasant place to live. After serving in Iraq in 2003, 1 moved to Okinawa, Japan for a short period before leaving the military in 2007. I have been settled in Temecula, where I still enjoy living today despite all this heat out here.Fitness has always been an essential part of my life. I played basketball and swam in high school and became a martial arts instructor in the Marine Corps. I've been passionate about powerlifting for a long time and have since added Olympic lifting to my repertoire. I am certified to coach both, as I enjoy the technicality of the heavy lifts. Recently, I also ventured into bodybuilding, and became an IFBB Pro in the classic division. I work out six days a week, for two hours or more each day. As a personal trainer, I love helping people of all ages, from 9 to 79, achieve their fitness goals, whether it's powerlifting, Olympic lifting, bodybuilding, strength and conditioning, or lifestyle changes. As a single mother of two teenagers, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to balance daily responsibilities with maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. My own fitness journey began thirteen years ago after a health scare threatened to take away my joy of movement. Rather than accepting the prognosis from my doctor, I focused on being active and fit once again. This was the beginning of my addiction to fitness, particularly group fitness classes. I began teaching classes to regain my strength and endurance, and I quickly realized how much I loved helping others feel good about themselves through exercise.Through my love of group fitness, I became an International Trainer/Presenter for LesMills, a global leader in the fitness industry, as well as a NASM CPT - Personal Trainer.
